Timmy the Tiger @ King's

Working abroad as an English teacher at a new private school, I was also commissioned to create custom branding to give the school its own identity. Certificates, homework sheets, ESL learning apps and even school bags were made using illustrations of Timmy the Tiger and friends.

DeweyEnglish is an online interactive material package that approaches young English learners around the world by teaching English the fun way. Students interact with the characters and learn English words through fun games, activity worksheets and videos.

The process of putting the characters in various poses and scenarios greatly improved their place in the games and shows.

Artemis Poster

I whipped this up in Photoshop just to make it feel more like a sci-fi. I think I'll keep working on it but for now I'm happy to use this as a cover for this project

Here's a short clip showing some of the gameplay and animation for 'Artemis: The first steps' (working title). It's not at all programmed yet, but I have every graphic I need to make it look coded.
I think the combat is something like Resident Evil, and encourages the player to rely more on melee strikes and supplies that grow naturally or very rarely found from the crashed debris. More to come : )

I thought I would kick start my blog site with some uploads of my background artwork in Photoshop with my tablet. This is a series of background artwork that should describe the fictional world I built for a video game project to demonstrate my game art skills. Scroll through to see if you can understand the strange world I've made.
The jungle starts off somewhat peaceful, until you get deeper and darker into it....
Of course I had started this long before I saw any footage from the movie Avatar, and the fact that I live so close to Weta studios does not at all mean I took this idea from them. Seriously, I should be angry they had a similar idea but it's actually pretty nice to see a parallel.
The final part of the game gets into the deep thick of the jungle where the hero's escape pod has crashed and needs to contact the mother ship to get help. Obviously it can't be that simple and the player has to fight for their life even more than before with added difficulty...

So these are some of the stills of my project which I think best depict the visual adventure I'm going for. It's my style to add some nuances such as shadowed creatures or effects like water sparkles and fog. Please give me some feedback and if you'd like to see something more then just let me know.
